NOTES FOR EXAMS

hi all, just want to bless all of you as you revise for your SA1 with God's peace and strength. I know all of you will try your best :-)

ENGLISH
· go through all the grammar and vocabulary components
· synthesis and transformation worksheet
· practice papers (since beginning of the year) and unit worksheets

MATHS
· look through all the problem sums in your unit worksheets, topical worksheets and practice papers

Fractions
· for addition and subtraction, denominators must be the same
· for problem sums, look out for the word 'remainder' or 'remaining'
· try to use model to either check your work or solve them

Ratio
· remember the relationship between ratio and fractions
· try to use model to solve or check your working

Area of Triangle
· area of triangle = 1/2 x base x height
· know that the base and height MUST be PERPENDICULAR!!
· once you find/know the base and height, you can solve MOST of the problems
· Remember, break you diagram into parts if necessary

SCIENCE
· look through all your practice papers, topical worksheets and process skill worksheets

Cells
· know the various parts for plant and animal cells and its functions
· know how to the animal / plant cell looks like

Reproduction of Plants
· Remember the 4 process - Pollination, Fertilisation, Seed dispersal and Germination
· Pollination - know the various male and female parts and its function
· Fertilisation - know what happens after fertilisation
· Seed Dispersal - know the various methods of dispersal and what are the characteristics of the seeds
· Germination - know the condition for germination
· Overcrowding - know that overcrowding will cause plants not to grow well as they will have to compete for space and nutrients

Systems
· know the parts of the respiratory system and its function
· know the parts of the circulatory system and its function
· know the direction of oxygen-rich blood and carbon dioxide-rich blood

Water
· Know the 3 states of water
· Know the 4 process in the change of state of water
· know the evaporation and condensation process well (esp the CONDENSATION process)
· understand the water cycle (what happens at each state)
· know the 4 factors that affect the Rate of Evaporation
